Oswego Red Electric Train at Portland Depot The Oswego Local 319 waits at Union Station in Portland. Running from 1914 through 1929, the distinctive round-windowed Red Electrics provided public transportation for the Portland area that has yet to be rivaled. Painted a shiny fire-engine red, the cars allowed passengers to take a thirty-minute trip from Oswego to Portland for a fare of ten cents. The current Willamette Shore Trolley runs on the same line.
